I went out to go see Zach Fox at beacham in downtown Orlando & this is the story of how I decided to recap my entire night from the moment I came up with this idea until the time I got home.
disclaimer: all of this was mainly written on my iPhone, which means all of my videos would not be available to post on here.
6:09 PM:
Sitting in my bathroom, pre-shower, pre-game, pre-planning, I had a revelation: How does one recap a night via Substack?
Obviously, I knew what I had to do.
With a drink in hand—Crystal Light, strawberry, water, and an unmeasured amount of Espolón tequila—I declared this moment the official start of the night.
6:21 PM
Doomscrolling like my rent depended on it. Eventually, I broke free.
6:33 PM — The Shower Actually Happens.
Clean, moisturized, and ready to pretend I know what “clean girl aesthetic” means.
6:48 PM — Dinner & Getting Ready
Fish and veggies for dinner. Because balance.
While doing my makeup, I had Jade and XD on Patreon in the background, keeping me company. Also, smoked & rolled up, because priorities.
8:53 PM — En Route to Beacham
My partner drove me to the venue. New Drake/PND album playing in the car.
“This gotta be the worst named song ever.” — my partner on SPIDER-MAN SUPERMAN.
9:10 PM - 11:25 PM — Drinks, DJs & Debauchery
As we pulled up to Beacham, the line was already wrapped around the block. People standing. Mingling. Scheming.
Me? I’m furiously texting my friends. The “where y’all at?” texts were flying, and per usual, my mind was speaking faster than my thumbs! I saw a shorter line and I was able to get inside quicker than expected. Saw my friends Angely & Lex. Took a tequila shot like a BABY. I was already drinking and I can feel the liquid sloshing around my stomach and it was ✨NOT✨fun.
I tried to have it with a Red Bull, water, and a joint like a responsible adult. The joint will even me out always - especially at the end of a night.
3 DJs played. The first opener was someone named Amira or Amina (I cannot remember for the life of me, I’m so sorry!!!) and DJ Gay-Z, a DJ I’ve seen at other events. His set was great and crowd? Unhinged as they could be. Zack Fox wasn’t even on yet, and people were acting like they just got released from a 5-year bid.
11:26 PM
Standing outside the bathroom, waiting for Lex. Hydration was needed. Another joint was imminent.
11:30 PM - 11:54 PM — Crossed the Sweaty Sea
Finished smoking. Waded through a sea of sweaty bodies with Lex. Found Angely, who was LIT, recording Zack Fox’s set. Zack Fox was giving chaos, energy, and definitely encouraged the crowd to support and promoted LGBTQ DJing/electronic music. It was a beautiful moment.
Towards the end of the night, Ang and Lex went home, and I decided to stick around and listen to more music!
1:07 AM
Left Beacham with my things intact, my back sweat drying away due to the cool evening air, and my appetite fully activated. I call my partner and wait in front of the buildings downtown.
1:50 AM
my partner got me, we drove home. The end of a night usually ends with me wanting to shower and sleep but I was in desperate need of something in my stomach, so the solution? Pie.
Whole Foods Apple Pie, that is.
Going to see Zack Fox was a fun way
