Trumpito Pardons Reality Stars and Rappers with Tax Evasion and Gun Charges | 📰 The Mid📰
KENTRELL?!
The Mid this week is going to be a little different.
[I already came out with it hours later than expected so what else can be different and new?]
This week’s episode is going to be about Todd and Julie Chrisley from the Chrisleys show on USA getting pardoned by President Donald Trump.
ALSO as I'm doing my research, I come across the fact that KENTRELL GAULDEN, aka NBA YoungBoy, was also pardoned. YoungBoy was going to be released in July 2025 on a plea deal related to a federal gun charge.
On top of these three prominent names, Trumpito also decided he was going to pardon:
Silk Road dark web marketplace founder, Ross Ulbricht
Washington, DC Metro Police officers Andrew Zabavsky and Terence Sutton (who pursued and murdered 20-year-old Karon Hylton-Brown in a high-speed chase for driving a moped without a helmet, and for covering up the incident)
Devon Archer (defrauding a Native American tribe in a $60 million bond scheme)
And several others listed in Newsweek’s rundown:
Newsweek dropped a full list of people that Trump decided to pardon “[an effort to] end a grave national injustice" and promote "national reconciliation.”
The Chrisleys are one I cannot be too surprised about because their daughter, Savannah Chrisley has been a vocal supporter of Trump, even speaking at the 2024 Republican National Convention, where she defended her parents and criticized the justice system, which is no surprise because the Chrisleys claimed that they were victims of a weaponized Biden Justice Dept, according to NBC News.. She also appeared on Lara Trump's Fox News show to advocate for her parents' release. After the pardon, Savannah posted a TikTok video wearing a MAGA hat, expressing her gratitude to Trump and stating, "If anyone knows what we're going through, it's the president." She said that Trump can relate because “he was wrongfully convicted too.”
Todd was serving 12 years in Tennessee, and Julie was serving 7 in Kentucky. The obvious reason here is that Trump is pardoning not just MAGA supporters and right-wing grifters—but also the parents of a Republican influencer who worked on his campaign.
And by pardoning YoungBoy, Trump once again believes he has the Black community in his pocket with this move. He’s banking on celebrity clout and cultural proximity to secure goodwill, despite actively pushing policies that harm the same communities he’s pandering to.
While YoungBoy’s and The Chrisley’s are released and Savannah’s posting her teary thank-you videos, Trump is cutting educational funding, targeting immigration, and flirting with white nationalist talking points.
Don’t get caught up in the chaos theater.
